For more than 35 years, Glaucoma Research Foundation has been the premiere organization in glaucoma research funding.
We support new high-impact clinical, epidemiological and laboratory research based on our strategic research goals.
Glaucoma Research Foundation (GRF) does not accept unsolicited grant applications. Applications mailed to our office will not be reviewed or returned.
Preliminary Proposals are reviewed by our Scientific Advisory Committee. Applicants are notified via email about the status of their proposals in early September. Authors of proposals deemed to have scientific merit will receive an email with instructions for completing and submitting our full online grant application, which will be due before noon of September 30 Pacific Time.
Prior year grant recipients wishing to apply for a second year of funding must follow the same procedures as first year applicants. GRF will not award grants for more than two consecutive years.
Grant applicants must possess at least a graduate degree. Interdisciplinary teams and collaborations that may lead to new glaucoma treatments are encouraged.
Glaucoma Research Foundation must be acknowledged in papers and abstracts resulting from GRF-funded research.
Preliminary Research Proposals for Shaffer Grant consideration are accepted annually from June 1 to July 15. To be eligible for funding after February 1, 2017 a preliminary proposal must be submitted by July 15, 2016. Click here to submit your Preliminary Proposal.
